Toyota said today it is recalling 2.3 million vehicles to fix accelerator pedals that could fail to spring back. This new recall makes the total number of vehicles recalled for possible uncontrolled acceleration to 4.8 million, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The General Motors Foundation approved an immediate $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross relief fund Wednesday to help earthquake-stricken Haiti. GM also has set-up online access for its employees if they want to individually contribute to the American Red Cross disaster fund as well.
